About
Jean Hilbert is a seasoned pianist, composer and Nationally Certified Teacher of Music from Waverly, Iowa. Enraptured by power music, Jean’s love for music and fascination with composition began at a very young age, however it wasn’t until many years later that she became passionate about expressing herself through her own original content.
Melding together personal experiences and her love for God, family, friends and nature with immersive song writing, Jean Hilbert put pen to paper and in 1994 began recording and performing her own compositions while also holding down a day job. As the co-founder and pianist for the Christian singing group "Reflections" from 2000-2011, Jean Hilbert continued to showcase her talents with the world.
In 2014, following a 30-year career in the mortgage banking industry, Jean Hilbert took an early retirement to focus solely on creating and performing her own music. Ever since, the artist has curated 6 solo piano albums consisting of mainly original work, but also some arrangements of cover songs, and a rich collection of hymns.
The eclectic artist’s discography boasts the soul-stirring albums, “Piano at Midnight” which she dropped in 2021, ‘One Life, One Faith, One Journey’, and ‘Beyond Tomorrow's Dream’, which she released in 2020, and the 2019 album, ‘Echoes of the Past’, among several other highly acclaimed pieces. Jean has also become a certified teacher of piano and continues to perform in the area as well as maintaining an active piano studio. She has performed many solo and collaborative concerts in the Cedar Valley and most recently performed a series of benefit concerts for the Hearst Center for the Arts.
As a talented pianist, composer, and solo piano arranger, Jean Hilbert has had great success with her musical compositions. Jean was the composer for "Reflections", and organized, composed, and arranged music for and performed in multiple musicals at St. John Church. The artist also performed in several collaborative benefit concerts and was the recipient of Steinway Top Teacher award in 2019, as well as Finalist in Great American Song Contest in 2009 and 2010.
Classically trained throughout her formative years and in high school, Jean Hilbert has continued to embrace her 'free-spirited' side that championed liberty and uniqueness, while also staying true to the genre. Painting vivid scenes in musical form through her rich and immersive song writing, Jean Hilbert plans to record a new album in the summer of 2022, featuring piano and violin.
Her music is available on all the streaming platforms including Spotify, Amazon, Pandora, Radio Airplay, YouTube, Deezer and more.
